The Salernos operated The Bike Shop until 1980. At this time Jack Christy purchased the shop. In 1981 Christy moved The Bike Shop from its original location across the street from Del Campo High School to its present location on San Juan Ave. Jack sold The Bike Shop to Scott Barrette (customer, ex-employee and overall bike nut) in 1994. Scott has expanded the size of the store to almost 3000 square feet and has packed over 200 bikes into the showroom. After
all these years… it was time for a change. As of January 1, 2005,
The Bike Shop became Patriot Bicycles Inc.! Patriot Bicycles has been
the name of Scott's bicycle frame business, producing sidehacks for the
